Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Johar Justice collects, why it collects it, who else processes it, and how you erase it. It is written to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Effective 25 August 2026 · Published by NutanTech Labs LLP

This page is published in English and Hindi. Where the two differ, the English text governs.

1. Who is responsible for your data

NutanTech Labs LLP is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. You are the Data Principal.

For any question, request or grievance about your data, write to contact@joharjustice.com.

2. What we collect, and why

We collect only what the service needs to work.

  • Account details — your email address, and your sign-in method. Needed to give you an account and keep it yours.
  • Your advocate name and the other spellings of it you choose to add. Needed to find your matters in published cause lists; nothing else uses it.
  • The matters you confirm as yours. Needed to show your Court day and to know what to alert you about.
  • Your own work — notes, what happened in Court, next actions, tasks and reminders. Stored so you can find them again.
  • Notification settings and a device notification token. Needed to send the alerts you have asked for, and to send them to the right device.
  • Basic technical and diagnostic records — the fact of a request, errors, and app version. Needed to keep the service running and secure.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not use your notes, matters or tasks for advertising.
  • We do not share your matters or notes with other users unless you deliberately share a chamber with them.
  • We do not ask for, or store, payment card details. No payment is collected during the pilot.

4. Court information is not your personal data

Cause lists and Court board information are published by the Court. JJ reads them; it does not create them and cannot amend or remove them. A correction to a Court record has to be sought from the Court.

What is yours is the link you draw between a published matter and yourself, and everything you write about it. That is what this policy governs.

5. Legal basis

We process your data on the consent you give when you create an account and when you enable a notification category, and for the legitimate uses the Act permits — running the service you asked for and keeping it secure.

You may withdraw consent at any time by turning off a notification category or by erasing your account. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out.

6. Who else processes it

We use a small number of processors, each for a named purpose and bound to act only on our instructions:

  • Google LLC (Firebase Authentication) — verifies your sign-in and holds your credentials. We never see your password.
  • Google LLC (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — delivers push notifications to your device.
  • Our cloud hosting provider — runs the application and the database that holds your account.

7. Where it is stored, and for how long

Your account data is held in our database for as long as your account exists.

When you erase your account we delete your account record, your name spellings, the matters you tracked, your notes, tasks, reminders and your notification tokens. Erasure is permanent and we cannot restore erased data.

Records we are required to keep for legal, tax or security reasons are retained for the period the law requires and for nothing else.

8. Your rights

To exercise any of these, write to contact@joharjustice.com. We answer within a reasonable period, and in any case within the period the Act requires.

  • Access — ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — correct anything inaccurate, including your name spellings, from the app or the account portal.
  • Erasure — erase your account and its data, from the app or from the account portal on this site.
  • Withdraw consent — turn off any notification category, or close your account.
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our answer.
  • Nominate — nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.

9. Security

Traffic to and from JJ is encrypted in transit. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication and your password is never held by us. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to operate the service.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the Act requires.

10. Children

JJ is a professional tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our processing changes, and note the effective date. This version takes effect on 25 August 2026.

12. Grievance officer

Grievances about the handling of your personal data should be sent to contact@joharjustice.com, addressed to the Grievance Officer, NutanTech Labs LLP. We acknowledge every grievance and respond within the statutory period.
